Hi Friends!

Have you heard of Astaxanthin (pronounced a-stuh-zan-thn)? It’s one of the most powerful antioxidants, extracted from red algae, often found in Hawaii.  It’s also what gives salmon, krill, lobster, and shrimp their vibrant pink color

The most amazing feature of astaxanthin is its ability to prevent damage from the sun (UV radiation).  It is a powerful free radical scavenger, helping to reverse UV damage to skin.  I like to call it an “internal sunscreen!”  Research studies in humans have shown astaxanthin to improve wrinkles, elasticity, moisture and reduce age spots. Basically, it prevents photo-aging and sun damage from UV light.

In my practice, I have had countless patients tell me that astaxanthin has prevented them from their usual sunburns!  Those who normally “turn red” in the sun, noticed significant improvement in their skin appearance and texture.  I recommend it to anyone looking to improve the quality of their skin, or those prone to sun-related skin cancers.  Astaxanthin is one of my personal favorite supplements that I take every day.

Carotenoids are the bright yellow-orange-red pigments found in vegetables like carrots. Astaxanthin is considered the “King of Carotenoids!” It’s also amazing for the eyes!  As an antioxidant, it’s considered to be substantially stronger than all other well-researched antioxidants including vitamin C, vitamin E, lipoic acid, CoQ 10 and beta carotene.  Astaxanthin can help prevent DNA damage throughout the body.

Our astaxanthin is made in the United States directly from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, using a delicate, solvent-free technology that ensures maximum purity, stability, and bioavailability.  Each capsule contains 6 mg of AstaREAL®, a registered brand of astaxanthin.  It is the most studied form of astaxanthin in the world, with over 40 clinical studies, both animal and human.

If you LOVE being in the sun, it’s definitely a supplement worth considering.
