Hi Friends!
Hypothyroidism, where the thyroid becomes sluggish and doesn’t produce as much thyroid hormones, is on the rise! Back in 2009 it affected 5 percent of the US population, but now it affects 14% of Americans!
Over the last month, I had the pleasure of researching the latest updates on the treatment of Hypothyroidism and was inspired to create this video to share it with all of you.
In this video I review the symptoms and root causes of hypothyroidism. I explain the big differences between T4, a prohormone, and T3, the active form of thyroid hormone.
Learn why 20% of patients remain symptomatic on the leading treatment for hypothyroidism, which is Levothyroxine, and why Combination Therapy (the addition of T3) can make a big difference for some people!
I review all the options for Combination Therapy including liothyronine, natural desiccated thyroid extract, and T4/T3 made in a compounding pharmacy and the pros and cons of each option.
I review active vs. inactive ingredients present in common thyroid medications and options for sensitive individuals looking to avoid fillers, colors, and dyes.
What are some key nutrients needed to support thyroid hormone synthesis and T4 to T3 conversion?
What’s the best diet for those with hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s thyroid disease?
Learn about the Thyroid-Gut Axis and why people with hypothyroidism are more likely to suffer from SIBO, low stomach acid (achlorhydria) and slowed gut motility.
Learn why healing the gut can help improve the conversion of T4 to T3, and why addressing Leaky Gut can reduce the autoimmune process in Hashimoto’s.
I’m thrilled to launch a new product to help those with hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s thyroid disease. Thyroid support contains:
1) The building blocks of thyroid hormone synthesis including Iodine and the amino acid Tyrosine.
2) The conversion factors to improve T4 to T3 conversion including Selenium, Zinc, and Vitamin A. Selenium is also research-proven to help reduce the TPO antibodies in Hashimoto’s.
3) Antioxidants to protect the thyroid from all the toxins we are exposed to in the environment. It has Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC). It also has Turmeric root extract to help with inflammation. Guggul Resin is an Ayurvedic herb that has been shown to improve thyroid function. Finally, Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb that helps your adrenal glands better handle stress.
4) Zinc and Vitamin A also improve cell sensitivity to thyroid hormones throughout your body.
