The Microbiome’s Role in Disease: Unraveling Dysbiosis

Hi Friends,

As Hippocrates said back in 400 BC, “All disease begins in the gut.” If you’re struggling with your weight, energy, immune system, mood, hormones, or even skin, it’s important to pay attention to your gut microbiome. Astonishingly, the DNA 🧬 from these tiny inhabitants surpasses our own human DNA, which is why scientists often refer to the gut microbiome as our “second genome“.

Did you know that the following common diseases are linked to Dysbiosis, which is a bacterial imbalance in the gut?

🔸 Obesity
🔸 Diabetes
🔸 Autoimmune Diseases
🔸 Alzheimer’s Dementia
🔸 Heart Disease
🔸 Colorectal Cancer
🔸 Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
🔸 Skin conditions like acne, eczema, rosacea, fungal rashes, and hives
🔸 Frequent Infections: upper respiratory, sinus, urinary tract, and vaginal
🔸 Mood disorders like depression, anxiety, addiction, and even schizophrenia
🔸 Hormonal Imbalances like Insulin Resistance and Estrogen Dominance
🔸 Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia

Symptoms of dysbiosis can also include:

🔹 Bad breath and body odor
🔹 Foul smelling gas
🔹 Brain fog
🔹 Bloating
🔹 Irregular bowels
🔹 Food intolerances
🔹 Vaginal or anal itching

When it comes to treating dysbiosis, we need to add more “good bacteria,” to repopulate the microbiome and crowd out “bad bacteria.” These key “good bacteria” are the bacterial superheros of the gut and include

Thanks for reading this week’s newsletter! We can’t change our human genome🧬, but there’s a lot we can do to modify the genome of the microbes inhabiting our digestive tract! By prioritizing organic, whole foods 🍎 and integrating high-quality probiotics, we’re adding more superheroes to our gut microbiome. This is a powerful tool in disease prevention!

Remember, a healthy gut microbiome sets the stage for radiant health and wellness.

Please share this with a friend or family member who may need help healing their gut microbiome.
