đ„ Hormone Chaos? It Might Start in Your GutâŠ
Dear Friends,
If youâre battling mood swings, stubborn weight gain, heavy periods, or feeling like a stranger in your own bodyâdonât just blame your hormones.
â ïžÂ The real culprit might be your gut.
In my short YouTube video above, I reveal the overlooked yet powerful connection between your digestive system and your hormones.Â
đŁ 3 Gut Triggers That Disrupt Your Hormones
1ïžâŁ A Sluggish Liver = Hormone Backup
Your liver is your hormone-processing powerhouse. But if it’s overwhelmedâby alcohol, toxins, or a poor dietâestrogen builds up like traffic on a clogged freeway.
One glass of wine can spike estradiol by 30% in women with estrogen dominance!
2ïžâŁ Constipation = Estrogen Recycling
If you’re not eliminating daily, you’re not just holding onto wasteâyou’re reabsorbing toxins and estrogen.
This is one of the most common and underestimated causes of hormone imbalance I see in my practice.
3ïžâŁ Dysbiosis = Hormone Sabotage
Bad bacteria and yeast overgrowth produce an enzyme called beta-glucuronidase, which puts estrogen on a dangerous loopârecirculating instead of exiting.
Iâve seen this exact pattern in stool tests from patients struggling with fibroids, breast cysts, and endometriosis.
âïž What Is Estrogen Dominance?
Itâs when estrogen is too highâor not getting cleared properlyâand not balanced by progesterone.
You might feel anxious. Bloated. Emotional. Or struggle with:
PMS or PMDD
Breast tenderness or fibrocystic breasts
Heavy or painful periods (endometriosis)
Fat gain in hips, thighs, or chest
Fibroids, thyroid nodules, ovarian cystsÂ
đźÂ Men arenât immune either. Unfortunately, due to xenoestrogens in plastics, pesticides, and processed food, estrogen overload is now affecting menâcausing mood swings and even gynecomastia.
đż 7 Powerful Tools to Heal Your Gut-Hormone Axis
If your symptoms feel like a puzzle with no solution, start with the gut. Here are the key essentials Iâve used successfully with hundreds of patients:
â
Probiotic 100 Billion â Rebuilds your gut microbiome to restore balance from the inside out
â
Vitamin D3 with K2 â The sunshine vitamin that doubles as a hormone regulator and immune protector
â
Essential Magnesium â Fuels liver detox and keeps your bowels moving
â
Omega-3 Fish Oil â Fights inflammation and helps regulate hormone production
â
Estrogen Balancer â The âbroccoli pillâ with DIM & I3C to metabolize estrogens to “clean” metabolites
â
Calcium-D-Glucarate â Blocks the beta-glucuronidase enzyme so estrogen gets eliminatedânot recycled
â
Zinc â blocks an enzyme called aromatase in our fat cells that converts testosterone to estradiol

Eat to Detox: The Hormone-Balancing Power of Food
Your daily food choices are either fueling hormone chaosâ or helping your body detox and rebalance.
If you want to support healthy estrogen metabolism and stabilize your mood, cycles, and metabolism, these foods can be truly healing:
đ„ŠÂ Cruciferous Vegetables
Broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, arugula, and kale contain powerful compounds like DIM and sulforaphane that help your liver safely eliminate excess estrogen.
Think of them as the hormone detoxifiers!
đ Wild-Caught Fish
Salmon, sardines, and mackerel are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce inflammation and support hormone production.
đ Deeply Colored Berries
Blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are packed with antioxidants that protect your cells from oxidative stress and support detox pathways.
đ«Â Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This Mediterranean staple is rich in polyphenols and healthy fats that nourish your hormones and reduce inflammation.
đ„ Fiber = Estrogenâs Exit Strategy
Aim for 25â35 grams per day from vegetables, flax seeds, chia seeds, fruits and legumes (if you tolerate them).
Fiber binds excess estrogen and toxins in the gut, ensuring they get eliminatedânot recycled.
đ Stabilize Blood Sugar to Balance Hormones
Every time your blood sugar spikes, it sends your hormones on a rollercoaster by spiking insulin, and potentially cortisol. To stabilize your hormones, you need to stabilize your blood sugar:
â
Eat protein, fat, and fiber with every meal
â
Avoid refined carbs and sugar
â Consider intermittent fasting if this agrees with you
When it comes to hormone balance, the right tools matter.
These are some of the evidence-based supplements
I use most often in my practice.
