Can Allergies Really Change Over Time?

đź‘‹ Hello Friends,

We all know that food sensitivities can get worse when your gut is inflamed or imbalanced—but what about true medical allergies?

Are we born with our allergies, or can they develop over time? And more importantly, is it possible to reverse or resolve allergies by healing the body?

This year, I witnessed something remarkable in clinical practice. Several of my long-term patients showed dramatic changes in their IgE food allergy blood panels compared to results from several years ago.

These were patients who originally had multiple food intolerances and mild (Class 1–2) IgE food allergies. Over time, we focused on healing their gut by addressing root causes like Leaky Gut, Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Candida (yeast overgrowth), and Dysbiosis (bacterial imbalance).

As their gut health improved, so did their food-related symptoms. Curious to dig deeper, I had them repeat a full IgE food allergy panel through Quest Diagnostics.

The results were astonishing.

Many of their prior Class 1 and 2 allergies were now showing up as Class 0—no allergy at all. Even more fascinating? Their symptoms toward these foods had also disappeared.

In contrast, I saw a different trend in patients who had struggled with recurrent upper respiratory infections, repeated rounds of antibiotics, and mold exposure. When we repeated their IgE panels, new allergies had emerged.

This underscores something I’ve seen again and again:
👉 Healing the gut microbiome has a profound impact on allergy expression.

The clinical implications are enormous. When we improve gut health and restore immune balance, we often see dramatic improvements in conditions like IBS, eczema, asthma, and chronic sinus congestion.

Remember—over 70% of our immune system lives in the lining of the gut. So it makes perfect sense that repairing the gut barrier, restoring microbial diversity, and clearing dysbiosis can shift how your immune system reacts to foods and environmental allergens.

🌸 Spring Allergy Season Is Here! How Can You Protect Yourself Naturally?

Here are my top natural tools for calming allergy symptoms:

🌿 Histamine Support
A powerful blend of quercetin, stinging nettle, NAC, bromelain, and vitamin C, this formula helps stabilize mast cells and reduce histamine release—acting like a “natural antihistamine” without the drowsiness or dryness of over-the-counter meds.
Suggested dosage: 2 capsules twice daily for symptom relief, or 2 capsules 30 minutes before high-histamine meals.

🌿 Sinus Support
If you struggle with chronic sinus inflammation or infections, this botanical blend of thyme, turmeric, andrographis, eleuthero, licorice, NAC, berberine, and bromelain supports sinus health and reduces inflammation.
Suggested dosage: Up to 3 capsules daily.

🌿 Oregano Oil + Allicidin (Garlic Extract)
Both have potent antimicrobial properties and can help knock out mild sinus infections without antibiotics—while also promoting a healthier gut microbiome by cleaning up dysbiosis (bacterial imbalance).
Suggested Dosage: One capsule twice daily after meals.

This vibrant, high-fiber salad is the perfect balance of crunchy, sour, sweet, and salty—a true flavor explosion that also nourishes your body from the inside out. Packed with antioxidants, polyphenols, and plant diversity, it’s a beautiful way to support your gut and immune system.

Note: If you have a sensitive digestive system, consider taking Digestive Enzyme Pro with this salad to prevent bloating or discomfort from the high-fiber ingredients.

Ingredients (serves 2-3):

1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1/4 red onion, diced
2 handfuls of arugula
1/2 cup of olives
1/2 cup of beets
1/2 cup of grapes
1/2 cup of garbanzo beans

Dressing:  1 lemon (zest and juice), 3 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 1/3 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper.

Toss the ingredients with the dressing.

Optional: Top with some some goat cheese or imported sheep’s milk feta cheese

Allergies are not just random quirks of the immune system—they’re often a reflection of deeper imbalances, especially in the gut. What I’ve seen time and time again is that when we nurture the gut microbiome, reduce inflammation, and support the immune system with the right nutrients and botanicals, the body becomes more tolerant, less reactive, and far more resilient. Whether you’re struggling with food sensitivities, seasonal allergies, or chronic sinus issues, healing truly begins from the inside out. Let’s keep supporting our bodies naturally, so we can breathe easier, eat more freely, and live with vibrant energy year-round.

Warm regards,
